EPAM launched Students Internship — a new project-based internship format for students of Ukrainian universities.

10 May

In 2026, EPAM is launching Students Internship, a new project-based internship program for 3rd–5th year students at Ukrainian universities. The program gives students the opportunity to gain their first hands-on experience working on an IT project, collaborate in a team environment, and see how modern software development works in practice. It also provides a potential pathway to starting a career at EPAM.

Students Internship was created specifically for students who have the technical foundation but are looking for practical experience and a better understanding of real-world software development processes. We hope this program will help bridge the gap between academic learning and industry practice, making it easier for students to take their first steps into the IT profession.

The program combines hands-on work on a training project, mentorship, and a collaborative team-based environment. Upon successful completion, participants receive an EPAM Students Internship certificate. At EPAM partner universities, the internship may also be recognized as a university internship placement and counted toward academic requirements.

Available Tracks

In 2026, Students Internship offered the following disciplines:

  1. Java
  2. .NET
  3. JavaScript
  4. Manual Testing
  5. Python
  6. Android
  7. iOS

To join the program, applicants must demonstrate foundational knowledge in their chosen track.

Information about enrollment for the Winter 2026–2027 Students Internship will be announced later. To stay informed about upcoming opportunities and important updates, join our dedicated Telegram channel focused exclusively on student internships and practical training programs.

What Projects Do Participants Work On?

During the Summer Students Internship, participants worked on developing an MVP (Minimum Viable Product) for a booking platform based on a consumer–provider–schedule model.

The training projects are designed to help participants gain practical experience in:

  1. working as part of a team;
  2. collaborating with different project roles;
  3. planning and delivering tasks;
  4. using modern tools and technologies;
  5. building a product from concept to a working solution.

This format gives students a realistic understanding of how software products are developed while helping them strengthen not only technical expertise but also communication and organizational skills.

Internship Format

  1. Online
  2. Hands-on work on a training project
  3. Target audience: students who have completed at least two years of university studies and currently reside in Ukraine
  4. Limited number of places available
  5. Duration and start dates vary depending on the specific intake

To join the program, applicants must meet the requirements of their chosen track and successfully complete all stages of the selection process.

What Participants Gain

Upon completing EPAM Students Internship, participants:

  1. gain practical experience working on a project in a team environment;
  2. strengthen and systematize their technical knowledge;
  3. receive an EPAM Students Internship certificate;
  4. may have the internship recognized as university practice at EPAM partner universities;
  5. gain exposure to modern development processes, methodologies, and tools.

Who Is This Program For?

EPAM Students Internship is designed for students who want to:

  1. gain practical experience while still studying;
  2. experience teamwork on an IT project;
  3. understand the full product development lifecycle;
  4. work with modern technologies and development tools;
  5. take their first significant step toward a professional career in software engineering.

Why Does It Matter?

Today, many students lack not only practical experience but also a clear understanding of which area of IT is truly right for them. In theory, many roles look very different from what they are in practice. Reading about software development processes is one thing; working in a team, collaborating with specialists from different disciplines, and building a software product together is another.

That is why EPAM Students Internship is more than just a training program. It is an immersive internship experience that introduces students to a real-world working environment and serves as a first step toward a successful career in IT.

The program allows students to discover what genuinely interests them, identify the types of challenges they enjoy solving, and determine the direction they want to pursue professionally. This experience helps participants eliminate unsuitable career paths early and focus on the areas that truly motivate them and align with their strengths and interests.
